Golden Milk

The combination of plant-based milk, turmeric and black pepper is traditionally known to have anti-bacterial properties.

This golden yellow beverage is touted for its health benefits in reducing infection and inflammation.  Curcumin the active component in turmeric has been used in ayurvedic medicine for centuries and is a perfect treat on a cold day.

Ingredients

1 ) 2.5  cups of full-fat coconut, almond, or organic goats/cows milk

2 ) 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder or 2 inches of freshly sliced turmeric

3) 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

4) 1 stick of cinnamon or 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

5) honey, according to taste

Steps

1 ) Place milk, turmeric, freshly ground pepper, coconut oil and other spices into the pan.

2 ) Stir frequently with a wooden spoon, until very hot but not boiling.

3 ) If using fresh whole ingredients strain then pour into your cups.

4 ) Add your favourite honey according to taste.

5) You can store leftover milk in a sealed glass jar overnight in a fridge and reheat.
